How does ACTAtek4 operate with QR code authentication?

QR Code Usage with ACTAtek Devices

A QR code functions like a digital password, allowing customers to use any ACTAtek device equipped with a built-in camera. For example, the ACTA4-1K-P-C (PIN model with built-in camera) supports QR code authentication without requiring the Facial Recognition or Smart Card models.

Generating a QR Code

To generate a QR code, log in to either the ACTAtek device or the AMS webpage. Enter any numeric or alphanumeric string to create the QR code. (See the attached file for examples.)

Note: For AMS or AMS SaaS, the QR code icon will only appear after a Smart Card number has been entered and saved.

Once generated, save the QR code as a JPEG file. You can then:

• Send it to the user’s mobile phone via WhatsApp or email, or
• Print it out for physical use.

Below is an example workflow for generating and using a QR code.

Workflow: Adding a QR Code User via Device Webpage

1. Log in to the device’s [Add New User] or [View User List] page.
2. Enter the user’s preferred QR code number (e.g., 20260119) or use an existing Smart Card number to generate the code.
3. Enable the Smart Card status.
4. Click Add or Modify to save the user’s QR code settings.
5. Click Show QR Code.
6. Right-click the displayed QR code to save it as a JPEG file. Transfer the JPEG to a mobile phone or print it out for device access.

When accessing the device with a QR code, the LCD will display “Please remove QR-Code” and simultaneously capture the user’s picture.

Notes

1. Maintain at least 20 cm distance when scanning a QR code from a mobile device.
2. For printed QR codes, ensure the size is exactly 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm.
