Fail-Safe and Fail-Secure installation configurations

Important: The ACTAtek device's internal relay is rated at 24 VDC, 1A. Do NOT connect high-voltage or high-current devices (e.g., sliding door motors) directly. Always use an external relay or contactor for loads exceeding this rating.

TLS 1.3 Secure Protocol

ACTAtek's implementation of TLS 1.3 establishes the most secure communication channel available for access control devices. The protocol ensures that all data transmitted between the device and AMS can only be decrypted by the designated recipient.

Why TLS 1.3 outperforms alternatives:

TLS 1.3 (ACTAtek) — Most secure. Full end-to-end 256-bit encrypted tunnel; data integrity + confidentiality guaranteed
OSDP — Better than Wiegand but does not reach TLS 1.3 security levels
Wiegand — Legacy unencrypted protocol; vulnerable to replay and eavesdropping attacks

This commitment to TLS 1.3 is critical for access control systems handling sensitive biometric identity data and access credentials — particularly in financial, healthcare, and government environments.
